The US government warns that Russia state hackers are coming after your router

CISA warned that Russian state-sponsored actors are increasingly targeting residential and small-office routers to harvest routing infrastructure and build/resell residential proxy networks. The advisory highlights the risk of compromised routers being used for stealthy access, traffic pivoting, and large-scale abuse, and urges users and administrators to update firmware, change default credentials, disable remote administration, apply network segmentation, and monitor device logs and traffic for anomalies.
