Multiple Google Chrome/ChromeOS releases announced (late Apr–early May 2026): Chrome 148 promoted to Stable for desktop (Windows/Mac: 148.0.7778.97/96; Linux: 148.0.7778.96) with corresponding Android releases (148.0.7778.96 and 148.0.7778.120) and Beta/Dev channel updates. ChromeOS Beta updated to OS 16640.29.0 (Browser 148.0.7778.158). Long Term Support channel LTS-144 (144.0.7559.249, Platform 16503.81.0) includes selected security fixes, notably a Critical use-after-free in Proxy tracked as CVE-2026-6297. Android releases are noted to contain the same security fixes as the corresponding PC
