What happened
Prometheus releases 3.11.3 and 3.5.3 (2026-04-27) fix multiple security issues: an AzureAD remote-write bug that exposed OAuth client_secret in plaintext via the /-/config endpoint (CVE-2026-42151); a snappy-compression handling vulnerability in remote-read/remote-write that allowed requests declaring a decoded size larger than decode limits (CVE-2026-42154); and stored XSS in the web UI via unescaped metric names/labels (CVE-2026-40179). Older UI XSS issues were also addressed. Remediation: upgrade to the patched releases (3.11.3 / 3.5.3 or later), rotate any potentially exposed OAuth client_
